Destination Tybee Island! By Sonia Roopchand

by

A destination full of history and lovely attractions to see, Tybee Island is not only beautiful, peaceful and relaxing, it is full of shops and restaurants all in walking distance.  Tybee Island is located in Chatham county of Savannah GA.  The downtown historic district is less that 19 miles away which you will pass on your way into Tybee Island.  Downtown Savannah has not only horse and carriage rides, but has trolley tour buses for visitors.

The beach is warm and clean, besides seeing a school of fish being drawn in by the waves, the water is good enough to surf, swim and go fishing.  A Beach house is located on the beach where you can shower and use the rest room.  You can order beverages and snacks if you’d like.

Ocean front views are available for visitors where condo owners rent their property to visitors as well as villas.  The seafood choices of restaurants are plentiful and they can be found on the beach or just a walk way on Butler Ave.  Sting Rays restaurant which has outside seating plays live music that anyone can enjoy.

Your Ice cream shop as well as your gift shop can be found close by less than a half a block away and Mr. Chu’s convenient store is closely located for your personal needs and other items you desire.

The people of Tybee Island are pleasant and welcoming of visitors.  They are carefree and enjoy the beauty of the beach and the tranquility it brings just like the rest of us.  Tybee Island is only a short distance from downtown Atlanta, approximately 3 ½ hours.  It is a short trip for a world of fun and relaxation away from the city where you actually feel like a beach bum and be proud of it!
