Many of us have experienced difficulties in life that have made us want to give up at times, but it is the strong and determined individuals that rise above life’s challenges and displays true resilience. Native New Yorker Serena Essapour is one of those individuals who have survived life’s most difficult curve balls.
Serena Essapour has always been a go getter and achiever; with a two degrees under her belt in Law and Communications. She has had the opportunity to work in several prestigious positions in the area of politics, law and entrepreneurship. But in the year of 2007 that all changed.
In 2007 Essapour was known in a political scandal in Stanilaus County, California that involved Stanislaus County Supervisor Jim DeMartini. The scandal left her to face public ridicule along with negative gossip. The event not only tested her faith, but showed her who her true friends really were. “My mom new the truth from the very beginning and was with me in every step of the way. I received support from family and my true friends. I knew the truth in my heart & soul and it was my faith in God that enabled me to surpass it all!”
The event has taught Essapour a valuable lesson which is to never give up on what you truly believe in and to help yourself by having faith regardless of the obstacles. Her journey has helped her to discover her calling in life by becoming a motivational speaker and mentor where she is helping other young adults to have faith in God, believe in themselves and to create a plan for their lives.
Essapour is involved in charities and partners with foster homes and juvenile facilities where she mentors others through her company, 1 Life U. Her background in law, communications and her own personal struggles from the Stanislaus scandal has given her the expertise to speak from a place which she has not only endured, but overcame.
The 27 year old is soon to be published author with her new book which is set to be released in the summer of 2013 titled; ‘I Am No Longer Blind’ Serena’s Vision – “To the bring light to our children!”
